Pelotonia - Benefitting The James

Founded in 2008, Pelotonia was established with the objective to fund life-saving cancer research. Pelotonia is a three-day experience that includes a weekend of cycling, entertainment, and volunteerism. Through its first ten rides, Pelotonia raised more than $184 million for cancer research. Thanks to its generous funding partners, Pelotonia is able to direct 100 percent of every rider-raised dollar to cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.

Germain Peloton Rider

Rick Germain was a Pelotonia rider for several years when he realized he wanted to help increase rider participation within the Germain organization. He realized that there were two barriers to entry for many associates: the fundraising commitment necessary to participate, or the equipment needed to ride. Since 2016, Rick and Libby Germain have made an offer to every associate in the organization that wants to participate in Pelotonia: they will provide them with the equipment needed to ride (bike, helmet etc), or will match half of the necessary fundraising commitment in order for them to participate. Since 2016 the Germain Peloton has raised over $380,000 for Pelotonia benefitting The James.
