Just a week into having the vehicle a check engine light came on that when I took it to get looked at, indicated the knock sensor was faulty. Mind you, the check engine light never came on during my test drive, and the full work history report on what Germain had inspected and fixed prior to putting the car up for sale mentioned everything was good to go and up to par with the engine. Matt called me actually the day after I discovered this issue, and I told him what was wrong and how I was disappointed because this was never mentioned to me or in the report. He told me he understood where I was coming from and that he'd look into whether the service department could do the work at the very least at a reduced charge and that he'd call me back that day. That was a Friday. He never called back so I called and left a message on Saturday. He never called back so I called and left another message in the middle of the week. Still never heard from him. Going on week 3 I called Germain to inquire about my title coming in the mail as well as to possibly speak with Matt. I got a hold of him and he said for some odd reason he never got any of my messages (which is honestly hard to believe because I called his direct line and his voice mail) - but that he would look into having the service dept. take a look at it for me and definitely follow up with me this time. That was 8 days ago and still never heard back from him... Overall I'm just disappointed with the lack of follow-up or care for the customer experience on the part of Matt. I mean he is helpful and knowledgeable and a good person to buy a car from, but I feel like now that I got this car off his hands that he has no concern for what's going on with it and is just giving me lip service until I fade away. I'm not asking for anything ridiculous; changing a knock sensor is not the most complicated or time consuming job. I'm just asking for transparency on whether they can help me with something they should've found in their basic inspection process anyway or not. My experience with Germain when I was there to buy the car was positive but this leaves a bad taste in my mouth that makes it hard for me to refer them to friends with confidence. I've actually had two people ask me about Germain just from seeing my vehicle and I've had to mention this run around I've been getting because it's the truth.
